Certified Destruction, Remediation & Recycling Program

Empty steel and plastic drums waste space and resources, but companies can’t just throw them out. Empty drums must be disposed of in compliance with strict federal, state and local environmental regulations. Even metal scrap companies will not accept drums unless they have been properly reconditioned.

Texas Drum takes the worry and hassle out of drum disposal. We can provide a program that will allow you to reduce the high cost of having your containers disposed of as special waste / hazardous waste. We pick up empty drums and thoroughly clean them, using the same rigid process we would use if we were reconditioning them. We then shred steel and plastic drums for recycling. We also dismantle and recycle unusable IBC totes.

Our total drum disposal service gives customers a low-cost, trouble-free method of meeting disposal laws and peace of mind that the job will be done right the first time every time.

Drum Management Services
In industry, large numbers of drums tend to accumulate at plant sites from many production areas. Often drum contents are not identified, even though they may contain spent solvents, acids, alkaline and toxic substances. These drums are a major concern and potential liability to our customers.

Used steel and plastic drums and IBC totes have two environmentally acceptable fates - to be reconditioned and reused as shipping containers, or to be processed for steel scrap recycling. In both cases, all residues of prior contents must be removed, neutralized, and disposed of in compliance with all relevant requirements.

Texas Drum Environmental Services Program offer services which allow our customers to implement and maintain a drum management system. Features of these services include:

  •  Sampling and lab analysis of unidentified contents of drums
  •  Consolidation of materials to minimize disposal costs
  •  Repacking and over packing damaged drums
  •  Cleaning and crushing of drums
  •  Transportation of drum contents to the disposal sites
